Hi , I would like to use vipps with my UK mobile number but couldn’t make it. I don’t want to get Norwegian sim card because all of my contacts knows my uk number and its still cheaper to use in Norway than Norwegian numbers.
Is there anyone to hell me about that ?
Hi Katty,
You have to have Norwegian Bank account and debit card for use the Vipps. You can’t even use bank accounts and cards from another Nordic countries. So there’s no chance to using Vipps with UK number since you need to have Norwegian phone number to get bank account.
I read some comments from Vipps developers on Google Play Store about they are planning to be able to register Vipps with foreign phone numbers but it’s pointless for me , because you should be allowed to using foreign numbers to getting bank account first.
Vipps well known payment application in Norway but it needs to be improved. Its easy to send money and make payment by using phone number instead of sending or paying on bank butit takes couple days to appear received amount in bank account sometimes.
