I had an old account on Wechat which is linked to my phone number. Can’t login that at the moment. It says I need verification with some friends. I don’t know what does it mean. I have never seen something like that before. I have no friends on WeChat and I can’t remember my old friends on the app. It doesn’t allow me to create a new account.

Welcome to the WeChat verification club. Unfortunately if you don’t use WeChat for a long time, you will not able to use it. The application will ask you to verify your account. There are some reasons of it. The application is very popular instant messaging of China. Sometimes Chinese GSM operators provide old phone numbers (which is owned by someone in the past) to their new members. This creates a serious privacy problem in China. WeChat is trying to fix this problem with blocking phone numbers which are not active for years. That is why you are facing with this. This is very tricky and it is almost impossible to get rid of this problem if you don’t know someone from China. The worst thing it is impossible to meet a people who can activate your account. You can contact Wechat though.
Another sad WeChat story, unfortunately. Once you get blocked from WeChat, it is almost impossible to turn back to app.
