This is very weird. When I send a message to a friend, KakaoTalk tells me that I can’t send message because of security. Why is that? The person already in my contact list and she already added me her phone contacts too. The working way of KakaoTalk is really weird. Why should I receive a message from my friend before I message her??
I uninstalled KakaoTalk because of the same reason. This is one of the most nonsense security option I have seen after WeChat friend verification. Since I need WeChat to reach some colleagues, I haven’t uninstalled it though.
Well the best way to fix this problem is sending a SMS to friend and ask her/him to send a message through KakaoTalk. Otherwise this is really a serious problem. This is also not a clever way for security too.
Same issue it’s weird…need to be fixed…in the name of privacy policy, they are not letting us connect to our friends

I got the same issue with my Kakaotalk, not all the time. Sometime works, sometime doesn’t! But I figured it out the most of the time not working are using data. sending msg/ images connected with wifi works.
I also have the same problem. I can’t send message by kakaotalk. I’m really nervous. I wanna delete it, but it dont let me to do deleting. It writes: You’re currently not allowed to unregister… policy. 😤😤😤
This is very nice question Artemisia and unfortunately there is not any answer of this. This is completely about misconfiguration of developers. Why? Technically you should able to message someone who has you on her phone contacts. That is a good sign that you are friends or partners or family members. However if this feature wasn’t working for people who hasn’t add contacts to each phones, I could say that it is awesome. I believe KakaoTalk developers should change their security settings of the app as soon as possible. Otherwise no one will want to use it.
I faced with this problem too and it was a little bit shocking for my part. My friend is already in my contact list and he told me I am his contact list too. However this security problem appeared when I message him. We fixed the problem through I called him and asked him to send a message to me. This is nonsense!
